Checking in on the Grizzly

November 8th, 2010

The other day I needed to go to Bass Pro Shop for something so I decided to check on the Grizzly while I was there. From what I could see, it survived the flood without any damage other than the gate leading into track being knocked down. I’m still thinking they should put it back to use as a water attraction for the hotel. I can see it like this, the path for the Grizzly could be a lazy river and the retention pond could be made into a pool area. Probably won’t happen but it would be cool if it could be used somehow.

Youtube

June 30th, 2010

Recently I’ve had a not so fun experience with Youtube. The user “OprylandUSA” took all the videos from Thrillhunter and posted them as his own. Normally I would not have any issues with someone using my material except, he never asked permission, he never asked if I minded if he uploaded them, and didn’t even mention where he got the videos from. He also stole a video from a friend of mine’s site and did the same thing claiming it as his own. I’ve tried contacting him, and his response was to ban me from making comments on my own videos. So I contacted Youtube, they pretty much told me unless I can mail them the tape that I originally transferred the movies from to prove they were mine that they couldn’t do anything. I explained that they could look at my site, contact my webhost to get the original upload date, and they said it’s irrelavant. So a definate thumbs DOWN to youtube on this one and a definate finger up to user “oprylandusa”.

Guestbook

May 24th, 2010

Like a big dummy, I went through freshening up the site in a few place a couple weeks ago, even backed up the guestbook (which is required to let people use it again). And in my moment of duh, I forgot to reset the guestbook. So, now it’s back open for all your guestbooking (is that a word?) needs :)

Nashville Flood

May 4th, 2010

My thoughts and prayers goes out to all who are affected by the flood. It’s a really sad time for Nashville. We were fortunate here at my house, but driving around the surrounding areas watching people having to salvage their belonging from their houses that was overrun with water, it just makes me feel fortunate and sad for them.

Here goes nothing..

May 4th, 2010

Well it looks like I’m drifting off into the world of blogging. I thought this would be a good way to communicate to everyone without having to go in and modify my site every time something rattles though this wasteland known as my mind. All I can say is.. more to come.. more to come..
